There is HOPE!

Last Saturday we went to Pampanga, the province where I grew up. We have a house there but since the three of us are all in Marikina, we rarely go there. This time we went there to pay our last respect to our uncle. My uncle is a jack of all trade sort of person. He likes to do some repair and tinker digital tuner. He died because he has some lung problems and he is quite hard headed because he consumed two bottles of Red Horse despite being cautioned that it’s bad for his health. I know that this is also the moment to meet some faces from my past, my childhood. And I am not surprised that some were not able to recognized because I really doubled up my weight. For them, they still see me as the skinny teenager. There are times when I just smile that I have grown big but for some who care enough to show concern I tell them it’s the effect of my life long disease. I was really happy to see the daughter of my uncle. She was able to spot me readily and have approached me. And she even reintroduced herself since she saw how puzzled I am when she came to talk to me. Oh yeah, my past has somehow been diminished by lupus.
