What is happening? Last night lights went out and almost every city in the Metro was in the black out state. Good thing we have a cold weather because it was raining. I was exchanging text messages with a fellow pre school mom and I found out that the culprit was a burned transformer. And that the black out was not only in our area it’s affecting the eastern part of Manila. The area which is already greatly affected by flood. Urgh!
When the electricty went off, our water supply seems to follow. My sister went to the bathroom to collect water in a pail just in case our water supply would be cut off. It’s a blessing that we have rechargeable lamp and electric fan. We had an early night. I was thankful that the little girl did not throw a tantrum but slept soundly as well. By 11pm, electricity was restored.
Today, I just heard the news. The power outage was caused by a fire involving a transformer of the National Grid Corporation (NGC) located in Dolores in Taytay, Rizal caused the power outages which affected many areas of eastern Metro Manila. source : ABSCBNNEWS.COM. I thought that was the last of it. No, it was not. This morning we experienced power outage again and the hotline of Meralco is busy. And then I read that the brown out would be a scheduled thing because of the law of demand and supply. Oh well. What is happening. ARe we going back to basic? Hopefully this too can be fixed because it would be a big problem for those in the evacuation centers too!
